Technical Writer – Singapore
Star Information Systems is looking for the best qualified local Technical Writer talent to strengthen our Singapore-based Research & Development (R&D) team.
Join us in developing the next state-of-the-art STAR Enterprise Asset Management system for the maritime and energy sectors. We focus on progressive web applications for handheld devices and desktops, online/offline use, and a distributed hybrid cloud system to support a fleet of ocean-going vessels and offshore oil production units.
Job description
Our R&D team is looking for a highly qualified Technical Writer to strengthen our local capacity. This is your opportunity to join a compact, experienced, and very agile team and to take part in the process from idea to live system.
As our Technical Writer, you will contribute to our development team and participate in the team’s workshops and discussions.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility is to bring about requirement specifications that will document the team’s decisions and serve as a starting point for the test team to build test cases.
Main skills
The work will span from early sketches to end-user and system documentation and create informative texts as the baseline for marketing activities. You will maintain a tidy and well-structured archive of all documentation artifacts.
You will be working with authoring tools and drawing tools, wireframing and prototyping tools, as well as Atlassian Jira and Confluence software.
Implicitly you will need to work on the new software, and by doing that, you will contribute to our continuous test effort.
The perfect candidate is a skilled writer with technical interests and understanding. CERF C1 or ILR Level 4 proficiency in English is a must.
Education
We are looking for candidates with a relevant university degree and/or who can demonstrate and document skills based on a portfolio of previous work.
Experience
We expect a minimum of a few years of experience working as a technical writer in agile teams.
Requirements
You are well-versed in software prototypes, wireframer, and authoring tools.
Proficiency in English, CERF C1, or ILR Level 4.
