STAR Consumption App is one of the applications released on the new STAR Suite technological platform, supported by the STAR Mobility Concept.

The app is designed to support the crew while performing material consumption in various onboard locations, even with no Wi-Fi or Internet connection. Users can download material lists with all details for each item from the Star IPS database to their mobile device and add the items to report consumption for into the chart. When all necessary items are added, go to checkout, and confirm. If the crew is working offline, the application is automatically synchronized with the Star IPS database when connected to Wi-Fi or the Internet again.

The STAR Consumption App supports QR codes for identifying items. When the material label is scanned with the camera on the mobile device, the app will communicate with the QR scanner and present the material details. Similarly, the application can print QR tags, even when the device is offline.

Online and offline

While the mobile device is connected to the Wi-Fi onboard, the user can explore inventory data in the Star IPS database with filtering and sorting options available. Selected materials with all information required may be downloaded to the mobile device. Thousands of records can automatically be transferred in seconds. The downloaded material records are tagged to prevent different users from updating the same items.

While offline, the user may filter, explore details, select items and quantities into the chart, check out and make the final confirmation. The stored data will be synchronized with the Star IPS database once the user is connected to Wi-Fi or the Internet.
