Thank you for your persistent trust in Star Information Systems.
This time of year, I look forward to some days off and spending quality time with my family and friends. Christmas dinner (no one makes “Ribbe” like my mother-in-law!), seeing my kids´ excitement for whatever Christmas Eve will bring – lazy breakfasts and late nights with a good movie and a glass of wine.
I am sure I am not alone in having feelings like these as we are fast approaching the holidays. Hopefully, all our employees, clients, and business partners feel the same way – and it’s well-earned. You have all contributed to the success of Star Information Systems this year! We are leaving 2022 with an all-time high revenue and the courage to continue developing new software to meet future demands.
Steady course forward
In 2021 we celebrated the introduction of the STAR Mobility Concept (link) and our R&D department for delivering new software and enriching functions. In 2022 we have celebrated that increasingly more of our existing and new clients are implementing new STAR solutions. I am confident that this trend will escalate during 2023.
Several new colleagues have joined us this year and are already impacting STAR. The combination of continuous improvement and development from R&D, a strong sales team, and expertise and support from our operations consultants is a perfect mix and a determining factor for our success.
2023 will be a year of changes. As always, the market will change and adjust, and some competitors will grow stronger. Consequently, STAR needs to change. We need to move and improve ourselves constantly. We need to attract and recruit more top-talented people with industry experience yet different mindsets to fulfill our strong STAR team.
Before we wrap up this business year, I would like to give you all a summary of some highlights from 2022:
⭐️ 25 years celebration
In 1997, three young and ambitious men joined forces and decided to incorporate Star Information Systems. With their acknowledged competence in maritime software, the ambition was to become a pioneer in software systems for the maritime industry.
⭐️ OKEA decided to transfer the Brage platform from the SAP software solution to STAR EAM
A huge milestone project with a short timeline -delivered on time. We have again shown that we can deliver quality quickly and successfully implement our solutions in the customer’s organization.
⭐️ Innovation Norway contributes NOK 8.4 million in financial support
These solutions will be generic and beneficial for the global oil & gas industry and maritime operators
⭐️ New Managing Director and Product Director
STAR’s planned generation shift. On the 1st of December, former CEO Per Anders Koien (58) stepped into his new role as Product Director. Bjørn Martin Klokkernes (42), the company’s COO for the last two years, took the position of Managing Director.
From all of us to all of you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thanks again for your support and trust in STAR during 2022. Spend your Christmas holiday as best possible, and good luck searching for the perfect Christmas tree 🎄
Best regards,
Bjørn Martin Klokkernes, Managing Director
