Despite the Covid-19 pandemic affecting the world, 2020 turned out to be a good year for Star Information Systems. In good collaboration with our customers, both the management and the rest of our team were able to adapt to the new requirements and changes in the market caused by sudden and extensive circumstances. A big thank you to all our loyal customers who contributed to our continued success. Likewise, we are honoured that even during these difficult times a number of successful new customers within the shipping and energy industry decided to join us last year.
To further strengthen our professional services we have introduced Business Project Services as a new business unit. With this team, we will provide our clients with expert guidance in addition to our traditional services. This will extend our mission to support our customers and making them stronger by our optimized business products, services, and knowledge.
The foundation for the STAR Next Generation software platform was designed in 2020. The first mobile app of our forthcoming suite is ready and in 2021 we will launch several of them.
In addition, during 2020 the new management team continued to revitalise the company. We performed a management buyout, strengthened the organisation, set the course, and steamed up.

From 1st of January 2021, the new IMO regulations for Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) and the Marine Cyber Security in compliance with the IMO MSC res. 428(98) are effective. Don’t worry! The STAR EAM System already has the functionality you need to be compliant with these requirements. Our experienced consultants are ready to assist and guide you on how to configure the software accordingly.
