E-learning Consultant – Norway
Star Information Systems is looking for an E-learning Consultant/Technical Writer.

We seek a E-learning Consultant/Technical Writer, to join our STAR Team in Sandefjord/Trondheim, Norway.
Job Description
The main objective of the Product Management department is to ensure that customer requests and new requirements in the customer domains are supported in developing future software and services for our customers.
As an e-learning consultant/technical writer, your primary responsibility will be to build, maintain, and extend our e-learning solution, which is used to train and support end users onboard our customers’ vessels.
You will be a member of our Product Management department, and you will be in close contact with our R&D, operations, and customers.
- Write standard operating instructions for system operation and turn them into e-learning sequences using Articulate 360.
- Customize these instructions according to the customer’s preferred processes, terminology, and configuration.
- Communicate with customers about best practices for onboard and onshore operations.
- Follow up on new regulatory requirements.
- Write user stories for new and improved functionality and services.
- Test and verify new software versions.
- Participate in delivery projects.
Most layout and system logic are described in JSON files that are controlled by our STAR Central management system and automatically deployed and applied to remote sites.
Timely deliveries and attention to detail is paramount. Your work will go through testing and QA before being accepted for production.
Preferred Background and Professional skills
You should be able to demonstrate genuine interest and remarkable skills within one or more of these competencies:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree, alternatively maritime education, and experience from a maritime company/organization.
- We welcome young, interested, and newly graduated applicants.
- Some experience in e-learning software would be an advantage.
- Experience working with business processes and improvements.
- Experience working with information technology and software systems.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral, in English and Norwegian.
