STAR introduces Control of Work, a new collection of functionalities to support safe working conditions on board. Control of Work represents a fully integrated toolset for identifying any high-risk situation or process and how to mitigate this risk to ensure safety for the crew and reduce the chance for undesired events and disasters.
Fully integrated with the STAR Enterprise Asset Management System
All Control of Work elements are fully integrated with the main modules for Asset Management, Maintenance, Project, and QHSE as the link between them is visual from both sides. E.g., all active work permits connected to a technical account or equipment are visible when exploring data for the equipment, technical account, and location. With this new module, the Barrier functionality in Star IPS becomes an even more robust function of prevention against disasters and major accidents.
The users can see the permit and the time given under the connections for work orders where a work permit is needed or granted, regardless of whether the work order is a regular maintenance job on board or related to a project/docking.
Control of Work is an integrated part of the safety management solution where the formal procedures, operational instructions, checklists, drawings, pictures, manuals, etc., are available as references and connections. Procedures and historical records are natural parts of the auditing functionality.
Notifications and dashboards
The users may be presented with active Work Permits, Isolation Certificates, and Management of Change processes in the Star Front dashboard. Users may also receive notifications, either with a hyperlink to the particular record inside Star IPS or an e-mail with a .pdf attachment.
