Utkilen AS trades electronically with SISCommerce
Utkilen AS is in the process of implementing Star IPS to their fleet of 22 vessels and has simultaneously chosen to trade electronically with SISCommerce; Star Information Systems' e-commerce solution.
First out with Star IPS are the vessels "Susana S" and "Straum"; and with Star Central Purchasing Systems already installed, both ships are now using SISCommerce to communicate effortless with their suppliers.
SISCommerce enables the purchasers at Utkilen to send inquiries and orders electronically to their suppliers and receive quotations and order confirmations directly into their purchasing system with no re-typing of data. SISCommerce is integrated with the Star Central Purchasing Systems (Star CPS) and requires no additional user interface. 
In addition to receiving quotations and order confirmations effortless into Star CPS, the purchasers can also easily monitor the progress of each inquiry and order with continuously updated statuses from SISCommerce. Through SISCommerce the customer can also trade with fully integrated suppliers such as MAN B&W, Alfa Laval Nordic, Wilhelmsen Ships Service, Wärtsilä, and Hamworthy Waste Water Systems.
