General program information
The Star Information Systems are 32-bit applications that can be run on Windows NT/98/2000/XP/Vista/7 workstations. The applications may use Oracle database, MS SQLServer or Sybase ASA.
Star Information & Planning System (Star IPS) is used both on and off shore. The vessel based offshore system is arranged for communication with an office based system for managing the entire fleet. The Star IPS office system integrates with the Star Central Purchasing System (Star CPS) which is used to manage the fleet supply, and the system is also enabled for electronical communication with vendors through the SISCommerce e-commerce service.
Star IPS may be used as a stand-alone information and planning system for companies that have no other interacting systems, or as an integrated system which can also communicate with 3rd party systems such as accounting, chartering/operations, crew/vages, etc.
Star CPS is arranged for communication with the requisition module in Star IPS or an equivalent DOS or Windows based system. The system is also arranged for electronic communication with vendors and for B2B e-commerce through SISCommerce. Star CPS may also be used as a stand-alone purchasing system for companies that have no interacting requisition / purchasing system at other locations (ship, rig, etc.). The system can also interact with 3rd party financial / accounting systems.
