Star Maritime Index

Created 03. feb, 2004 03. feb, 2004 Back |  Print

Star Maritime Index is an index used to carry information related to fleet and ship management.

The system has a hierarchic structure, which subdivides the main groups as shown above into functions and management and technical accounts. These accounts are the main information carriers in the system since information from all other registers may be linked to them.

A management account provides basis for process and procedural information, and provides access to documents & forms that are used in daily ship operation. Management accounts are also used for filing of information that does not fit in the plan of technical accounts. The Fleet management section may be used as a global information source for the whole fleet.

The plan of technical accounts divides the vessel into functions in a hierarchic tree structure down to component level.
Star Maritime Index can use different plans of technical accounts. Here, the index is coupled to the class code at the component level.
