Star Event
Star Event is a system for ship, fleet & QA managers. The system is designed to help ship management to:
- report accidents, near accidents and non conformities
- to follow up consequences and execute remedial actions
and to help fleet & QA management to:
- analyze events, decide remedial actions
- evaluate event consequences and marine insurance & warranty cover
The Lessons learned from events are normally targeted towards areas where improvements may be made to counteract the occurrence of similar events. Lessons learned are distributed to other vessels in the fleet as relevant.

Star Event may stand alone or be incorporated in Star Information & Planning System and Star Fleet Management System. Normally, an event is reported from a vessel, but it may also be registered ashore, depending of whom discovered the event.
Events that are covered by marine insurance policies or warranties will be handled by the office based Star Insurance System.
