Star Project
Since a ship’s dry-docking and repair project is the largest periodic maintenance activity that a ship is exposed to during its life cycle, the use of Star Project has a great potential to increase profitability in ship repair projects.
Currently, the drydock specification generation process takes a long time and there is a need to make the process more efficient. With Star Project, the ship operator can significantly reduce the specification generation time.
Star Project is designed to provide a project management solution for all the activities related with the docking and repair processes, including the following:
- Generate specifications
- Request for quote
- Receive quotes
- Comparison of quotations
- Award contracts
- Follow-up project and cost
- Change orders and extras
- Settlement with yard
- Report work done back in the maintenance module.
With the Star Project, superintendants will have access to the information and visibility necessary to maintain a greater control over vessels in dry dock and deliver a successful project on time and on budget.
After the docking is finished all the data will be filed to history of the project account and the individual items will be filed for later use.
Star Project is designed to automatically report "work done" back into the maintenance module.
Integration with other Star systems
Star Project is the complete onboard solution with a supporting office version. The office version of Star Project is integrated with the other Star software solutions like Maintenance, Purchasing, Document and Budget. Star Project can also be used as a stand-alone program onboard or ashore.
