Star Information & Planning System
Star Information & Planning System is a system for ship management. The system is designed to help ship management to:
- follow up planned and corrective maintenance
propose budgets & control costs- issue requisitions & direct purchases
- keep stock & handle supplies
- control plant inventory
- evaluate plant criticality & condition
- plan work & report work done
- receive and handle documents, forms, etc
- administrate, control and distribute QA procedures
- follow up surveys & certificates
- report and follow up events & lessons learned
- replicate data between ship and shore
Star Information & Planning System will contain one vessel, which will always be in focus.
Normally, Star Information & Planning System is used as a vessel system in interaction with an office based Star Fleet Management System. The system may also be used as a stand-alone vessel system without shore-based interacting systems except for direct purchases to vendors.
Star menu flexibility is ensured by a User Administration module where each user’s access to the system may be regulated in very fine detail. Thus, the same system may be tailor-made to meet the requirements of a wide variety of user demands - from a very simple maintenance and spare part system to a comprehensive information and planning system.
